Field Manager

Job Summary:

Corner Bakery is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Field Manager (Non-Exempt) to oversee daily restaurant operations and lead high-performing teams across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise employees across shifts, ensuring adherence to Corner Bakery’s service standards and operational procedures.

• Manage guest relations by providing exceptional service, handling recovery situations, and identifying opportunities for sales growth.

• Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receipt of deliveries, and stock control.

• Deliver food, especially during peak periods, ensuring timely and accurate service.

• Handle opening and closing duties, including equipment start-up, end-of-day reporting, and store shutdown procedures.

• Manage cash flow, perform bank deposits, and ensure POS accuracy.

• Facilitate the hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new employees.

• Conduct and lead employee meetings, training sessions, and food safety briefings.

• Take ownership of cost control and P&L responsibilities to optimize café performance.

• Support hourly employee development, coaching, and team-building activities.

• Lead and participate in the Safety Committee, ensuring strict adherence to food safety and health regulations.

• Coordinate and manage catering operations, including the Safe Driver Program and delivery schedules.

Secondary Functions:

• Participate in market-area manager meetings and collaborate with other store teams as needed.

• Assist in café operations including phone orders, cashiering, and food delivery.

• Execute Catering Sales Initiatives such as:

  • Daily guest follow-ups

  • Community outreach and local event coordination

  • Menu drops and tastings

  • Identifying sales leads through territory canvassing

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional formal education or training is a plus.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Shift Supervisor in Corner Bakery or a similar fast-casual restaurant environment.

• Valid Food Handler Card and ServSafe Certification required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Point of Sale (POS) systems.

• Strong leadership, communication, and guest service skills.

• Ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a high-volume setting.

• Organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through.

• Familiarity with CBC CORE systems and completion of CBC Management Training preferred.

• Bilingual (Spanish) and/or formal leadership training (e.g., Situational Leadership) is a plus.

• Must have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check consistently.
